On Monday, September 29, Meta will make Instagram Live video ads generally available to every advertiser, extending a Partnership Ad format that until now lived only on Facebook. The timing is the story: the format goes live the day Q4 opens, at the front of the highest-stakes customer-acquisition window on the consumer-brand calendar.

Meta announced the rollout on September 15 at the Interactive Advertising Bureau’s first Global Creator Week. The mechanic is straightforward. A brand pays to amplify a creator’s Instagram Live broadcast as paid inventory to lookalike audiences while the broadcast is still going. Complete AI Training called it “a new channel for real-time, interactive branded content.” That’s a fair read of what it actually does, which is compress the entire consideration funnel into a single window in which a viewer is watching a demo and can tap into it.

Alongside the ad format, Meta merged Creator Marketplace and the Partnerships Ads Hub into a single Creator Marketing Hub, adding one-click ad creation, content-level permissions, expiration dates on those permissions, and editing tools for copyrighted music and stickers. The Creator Marketplace API is being extended to Facebook creators, and Meta is adding a Messaging API and an expanded Content Discovery API aimed at agency workflows. Partnership Ads are also being wired into Meta’s Ads MCP connector, positioning the surface for agent-driven campaign management.

The numbers behind the pitch are in the 2025 IAB Creator Economy Report: 45 percent of consumer purchases influenced by creator recommendations, and creator-economy ad spend growing four times faster than overall media. Emplifi’s data adds that creator-led collaborations generate on average five times more interactions than standard posts for smaller brands, and that 73 percent of brands already use Instagram’s collaboration feature.

The practitioner voice Meta chose to foreground is Woosung Kim, performance marketing manager at eBay Japan, who said “interactive communication via Instagram Live has proven to be a pivotal engagement channel.” K-Beauty and Gen Z are the tell there. Live commerce is a mature behavior in Asia; Meta is importing the ad primitive that already works around it.

Read against Meta’s own recent moves, the sequencing is legible. It arrives two weeks after Meta’s Muse shopping agent inside Facebook and Instagram and days after IAB research showing consumer trust in AI shopping recommendations rises when a creator is attached. The creator is the trust layer the ad economy is being rebuilt around, and Monday is when that layer becomes rentable in real time.
